Achievers Alternative: Evergreen vs Achievers

For teams that have been pointed at Achievers and wonder whether they need all of it. Achievers is an enterprise recognition platform with a global marketplace; Evergreen is a chat-native app with a tree instead of a catalogue.

Pricing

Pricing is not published; Achievers offers custom pricing after a sales conversation, states there is no annual points commitment, and lists recognition and rewards and years of service as its two offerings. (as read on 7 September 2026)

Best for

Achievers is the right choice for a large or mid-market organisation on Workday or the Microsoft ecosystem that needs in-country reward fulfilment, service awards and listening in one governed platform.

What Achievers is

Achievers is an enterprise recognition and rewards platform. The centre of it is a marketplace fulfilled in-country across roughly 190 countries, with free shipping and no markup, covering experiences, merchandise, swag and gift cards. Around that are nomination-based awards for individuals and teams, a years-of-service module with digital cards and keepsakes, pulse and custom surveys, announcements, and an AI layer that prompts recognition and flags retention risk. It integrates with Workday through a certified suite, with UKG, ADP and SAP, and with the Microsoft stack including Teams, SharePoint, Outlook and Viva. There are Slack and Teams commands for sending recognition and alerts for the feed.

Pricing is custom. The pricing page offers a call back within a business day and says there is no annual points commitment.

Who it suits

A large organisation with a global workforce, an HR technology team, and a formal recognition programme that includes service awards. The 32-language interface, in-country fulfilment and Workday embedding are answers to problems that only appear at that scale. If you have them, the demo-led sales process is normal, and the right comparison for Achievers is Workhuman, not Evergreen.

How the two products approach recognition

Evergreen was built for the team, not the enterprise programme. A colleague gives a seed in Slack or Microsoft Teams with a message and optional value tags. It is posted to a public channel, and every three seeds a person receives are planted as one real tree through a reforestation partner. There is a dashboard for who gives and receives and which values come up, a monthly recap to the team, and a public impact page the company can share. That is the whole product.

Removing the marketplace removes the budget along with fulfilment, tax handling and an administrator role. It also removes the ability to reward a 20-year anniversary with something physical. Evergreen does not try to be a service-awards tool, and the recognition guide is candid about where a tree is the right size of reward and where it is not.

On cost, Achievers is quoted on headcount and scope. Evergreen is $3.99 per active user per month, billed only for people who interacted that month, with a 14-day trial and no card. There is nothing to implement beyond installing the app and choosing a channel.

What switching involves

Few companies move from Achievers to Evergreen wholesale; the more common pattern is a division or a product team adopting Evergreen for day-to-day peer recognition while the enterprise programme handles anniversaries and formal awards. If you do switch, give people a redemption window, export the reporting you want to keep, set your values up as tags, and install Evergreen in the channels where the team already talks. Weekly reminders and the monthly recap keep the habit going without a programme manager.

Where Achievers is strong

  • A global marketplace fulfilled in-country across roughly 190 countries, with free shipping and no markup stated on the site.

  • Deep enterprise integrations: a Workday-certified suite, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Viva, Zoom, UKG, ADP and SAP.

  • Slack and Teams apps with commands to send recognition and feed alerts back into chat.

  • Nomination-based individual and team awards, a years-of-service module, pulse and custom surveys and announcements in the same platform.

  • A 32-language interface and 24/7 support, which a multinational will need.

Where it falls short

  • Pricing is only available through a sales conversation and the site positions the product for mid-market and enterprise buyers.

  • Recognition, redemption and reporting live in the Achievers platform; chat integrations are a front door to it.

  • Rewards spend is a budget on top of the platform, and marketplace rewards are a taxable benefit for most recipients.

  • Company-values tagging and charity or environmental rewards are not described on the pages we read.

How Evergreen differs

Self-serve, with a public price

Evergreen is $3.99 per active user per month, installed from Slack or Teams in minutes, with a 14-day trial and no card. There is no implementation project.

A tree in place of a marketplace

Every three seeds a person receives are planted as one real tree through a reforestation partner. No catalogue, nothing to fulfil and no tax.

Billing follows participation

Only people who interact with Evergreen in a month are billed for that month. Enterprise platforms quote on headcount.

Values built in

Seeds carry optional value tags, and the dashboard reports on which values are recognised most and least.

Verdict

If you are a multinational buying a recognition platform through procurement, with Workday, a service-awards programme and an appetite for in-country fulfilment, Achievers is designed for that scale and Evergreen is not. If you are a team or a mid-size company that wants peer recognition running in Slack or Teams this week, at a known price and with a tree as the only reward, Achievers is far more than you need.
